Kate McGrain is a social designer and community organizer passionate about connecting people. As program coordinator at MICA, she supports the Center for Social Design and the Center for Creative Citizenship in building systems, processes, and programs to streamline their work. Prior to joining MICA, Kate spent eight years working in community organizations and schools in Baltimore City. Her projects have varied from after-school programming and volunteer management to community outreach and cross-sector collaboration. Kate loves working with others to create engaging, effective, and relevant programs for all.

Kate received an MA in Social Design from MICA in 2018, where her thesis work explored challenges to ensuring safe drinking water is readily available in all Baltimore City Schools. She has a BA in French and Global Studies from Loyola University Maryland.
